FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about what we do, what we do not do and how support works.
Is this only for Americans?
No. Warsaw Landing is run by an American and written with American movers in mind, but we work with English-speaking adults from anywhere who are considering Warsaw. All of our services are delivered in English.
We are built for three groups in particular: Americans reconnecting with Polish roots through citizenship by descent, people following a sponsoring employer, a Polish or EU partner or a study place, and people still deciding whether Warsaw fits.
Do I need a visa or residence permit, and will you handle it?
Staying in Poland beyond a short visit requires a legal basis, such as citizenship, a residence permit tied to work, business, study or family, or another ground defined by Polish law. We do not advise on which applies to you and we do not handle applications. Those questions are for the Office for Foreigners (UDSC) or an immigration lawyer, whom you engage directly.
We do ask about your expected basis on the intake form. It is self-declared and unverified, and we use it only to keep the plan and its timing realistic. If your plans depend on a permit that has not been assessed yet, we will say so on the fit call, and Try Warsaw (a scouting visit within normal short-stay rules) is usually the right place to start.
I am pursuing Polish citizenship by descent. Can you help?
We do not prepare or file citizenship applications; that is work for a lawyer or genealogical researcher, whom you engage and pay directly. What we do is make the move around it realistic.
Try Warsaw lets you test everyday life here while the confirmation is pending, so the decision is made on real numbers and a real visit. Warsaw Move Coordination keeps the citizenship steps in the same task plan as housing, appointments and settling in, so nothing depends on something that has not happened yet.
Can I buy Move Coordination without doing Try Warsaw first?
Yes. The two packages are sold separately and neither is required for the other. If you have already decided on Warsaw, you can start with Warsaw Move Coordination.
If you buy both, we will not bill you twice for planning work you have already paid for. Any adjustment is set out explicitly in your written scope; there is no automatic credit.
Do you provide immigration, legal or tax advice?
No. We provide practical relocation planning and coordination. Immigration, legal and tax questions need a qualified professional, whom you engage and pay directly under their own terms.
We can help you prepare for those appointments and fit them into your plan. If we suggest a professional, you remain free to choose someone else, and we tell you about any relationship we have with them. We do not take referral commissions.
What costs are separate from the package price?
You pay these directly to the provider: flights, accommodation, taxis, meals, rent and deposits, real-estate agent fees, translations, government charges, legal and tax advice, lease review and healthcare. Additional work outside your package is only done after we agree a separate written quote.
Will you find me an apartment, or guarantee one?
We do not act as a real-estate agent and cannot guarantee a tenancy. In Warsaw Move Coordination, we prepare a housing-search brief and coordinate with one property agent selected for your case. You contract with the agent directly, and they handle listings, viewings and negotiation under their own terms and fees. Our role is to keep the search organized and aligned with your brief and timeline.
How does support work?
Support runs on weekdays during your package’s support window. Send consolidated written requests (each package includes up to ten); we aim to reply within one business day. Support is not available around the clock, and it does not continue automatically for the length of a residence application.
We do not handle emergencies. In an emergency in Poland, call 112.
Can my partner join?
Yes. Both packages are designed for individuals and couples, and your partner is welcome on calls and at the orientation. Larger families, school searches, buying property and business formation need a separate scope, which we would discuss with you first.
Can I bring a pet?
Tell us about your pet in the intake form and we will factor it into the neighborhood comparison and housing-search brief. We do not arrange pet transport or advise on import rules; check the current official requirements and talk to your veterinarian well before you travel.
Do you serve areas outside Warsaw?
We work within Warsaw city limits. Travel to surrounding towns or further is quoted separately, in writing, before it is agreed.
How are cancellations and refunds handled?
Before you pay anything, you receive a written scope with the price, dates and exclusions. As a consumer buying at a distance, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason.
We only start work inside that period if you expressly ask us to. If you ask us to start early and then withdraw, you pay only for the part of the service already provided. If you need to move an agreed appointment, tell us as early as possible and we will reschedule within your support window where we can. If we cannot deliver something we agreed, we will propose a correction or an appropriate refund. Full details are in our terms.
